When using the XTOOL X100 PAD3 for key programming, you may see a prompt stating “Cost 50 points ” to perform a specific operation. What exactly do those 50 points mean, and how do it relate to key programming? Here’s a clear breakdown.
These 50 points aren’t a typical rewards system. They’re virtual credits used by XTOOL to unlock premium or encrypted car key programming features.
For certain higher-end vehicle makes, you need these credits to perform advanced operations, like reading PIN codes, performing all-keys-lost (AKL) procedures, or working with encrypted smart keys.
When the X100 PAD3 (with or without the KC100 module) programs keys, it supports a wide variety of vehicles and immobilizer functions, including:
Basic key programming for non-encrypted vehicles is free. But for vehicles with higher security—especially certain American, European, or luxury makes—the system prompts you for “points” to proceed with advanced operations.
Use points only when needed. If prompted, make sure it's for a required advanced step.
We offer the purchase of points cards for some models, with different points for different models. Please contact customer service email support@xtoolonline.com to check compatibility before purchasing.
